The Companion World About Us Welcome
to the Dr.Draw Companion. For those of you who don't know;
this is the online version of a former print publication. The
need for printing the Companion has gone the way of the
dinosaur since everybody is now on the web. About Me I've
been cartooning semi professionally since 1974. I've
had my share of hits and misses over the years. In
1976 the paper I was cartooning for sent one of my
cartoons over the AP wire. It appeared in a number of papers
across the country. Needless to say I was on
cloud nine and figured it was my ticket to fame and fortune. I
quickly learned that fame and fortune don't
go hand in hand (fame is easier to achieve than
fortune). I still had to work at dull jobs for bosses who
didn't care about my past glories. In 2002 I got a job doing
Editorial cartoons for the local paper (The Lompoc
Record). That has resulted in an appearance in "The Best Editorial Cartoons Of The Year" five times so far. My
wife, Lynn, of 28 years works with me to write the cartoons. As
well as cartooning for the paper I work in Public access TV. I
get to help people like you make TV and be
famous (there's not much I
can do about the fortune).
