Here's the ingredients for my "hardtop" version of
my fair'd Terra (Trike):
- Take a 35 pound WizWheelz
TerraTrike @ $2195
- install a 2 pound ZZipper
Bicycle Fairing/Mount @ $600
- add several light sheets of
for $5
- and five half-pound sheets of
found at my local True Value Hardware store
for $8/piece and in the words of Henry Ford: it comes in any
color, as long as it's black. They make a fluorescent green sheet
for toboggans, but they don't market it out here in summery So.
California.
- and another half-pound of PVC tape, rivets, and several lengths
of aluminum rods for an additional $20
- and invest evenings and weekends tinkering in the garage
with the design, and the result is a 42 pound all-weather HPV
for well under $3000 that keeps my relatively dry in rain
and very comfortable wearing shorts/jersey in cool weather that
has other cyclists I pass dress in mittens, jackets, and long
woolies.
