  • MARCH 25, 2017, 9:00 AM. 17th ANNUAL DR. JOHN C. TRETTIN MEMORIAL 5K RUN AND NATURE WALK, LOMPOC.
    This race was established to honor the memory of John Trettin, a local doctor, coach, father, husband, and friend, who was tragically killed while bicycling in the summer of 2000. Funds raised go to scholarships for local graduating seniors. This race starts and finishes at the Cabrillo High School Track, 4350 Constellation Road. Participants of the Run and Nature Walk are encouraged to use provided bags and gloves to keep the course clean as they enjoy their surroundings. Registration begins at 8 AM and is day of only. Entry fees: $10 ($8 for LVDC members) and $5 for 18 and under ($4 for LVDC members 18 and under). Awards three deep for male and female in eleven divisions and overall male and female plaques. Free raffle prizes will also be awarded to race participants.  Limited edition shirts will be available for purchase on race day.   • SATURDAY, APRIL 1, 2017, 9:00 AM. ANNUAL SCOTT WILLIAMS 4.3 MILE  CROSS COUNTRY RUN/WALK, LOMPOC. 
  • This event is held on the Picnic Grounds of the Federal Correctional Complex near the intersection of Santa Lucia Canyon Road and Oak Ridge Road. 2017 is the 20th anniversary that Scott Williams was murdered at the Federal Correctional Complex. . The 4.3 mile Run /Walk , will begin at 9:00 AM. The cost is $10 for children under 12, and $25.00 for all others. All participants will receive a t-shirt and there will be a barbeque at the conclusion of the event. Race day registration starts at 8:00 AM. The run offers scenic vistas of the Lompoc Valley. The course runs past oak trees, eucalyptus groves, and cattle pastures. Rarely seen scenic views of Lompoc Valley will awe and inspire you on this course typically not open to the public. You’ll be running/walking on dirt the entire course. Enjoy fitness, comradery, and the beauty of the Lompoc Valley.      SUNDAY, MAY 14, 2017. 10:00 AM. RAY GIL AND ALAN HUNT LA PURISIMA MISSION MEMORIAL 5K RUN/WALK AND 10K RUN, LOMPOC.

  • These events take place entirely within the La Purisima Mission. The courses consist of blacktop, dirt and "some hills."  Both events will start at 10:00 AM. Registration will start at 9:15 to 10:00 AM in the Tule Village.  It is located northwest of the Visitor's Center approximately 1/4 of a mile next to the large oak tree parallel to a service road.   • SATURAY, JUNE 24, 2017. 8:30 AM. FLOWER FESTIVAL PARADE ROUTE 1K KID’S RUN AND 3K RUN/WALK, LOMPOC.
    Kid’s Run starts at 8:30 AM and 3K Run/Walk at 9:00 AM. Start & Finish in the Times Square Plaza at 511 North “H” Street. Parking
    available in the Lompoc Plaza near the Von’s Gas Station approximately ½ block away. Registration starts at 7:30 AM. Pre-registration not required but recommended for speedy check-in morning of event call 735-7177. Entry fee: $5 for Kids Run and $10 for 3K Run/Walk (Lompoc Valley Distance Club members $2 discount).  Awards for 3K Walk will be for 1st, 2nd, Male and Female Overall. Awards in 1K & 3k Run categories will be for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for Male and Female. Age category awards for the 1K Kids Run as follows; 5 and under, 6-8, and 9-11. Age categories in the 3K Run as follows; 12 & Under, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 54-59, 60-64, and 65-69, 70-79, and 80 Plus. 100 Percent of proceeds collected will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of 5 year old Mallory Holloway, the daughter of an avid past local Lompoc runner Matt Holloway.   • SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2017  8:00 AM. Valley of the Flowers Half Marathon Web Page RUN AND WALK, LA PURISIMA STATE PARK, LOMPOC.
  • SAME WONDERFULL COURSE!!!!!

    This Half-Marathon & 5K benefits the Nancy Perry Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The Lompoc Valley Distance Club (LVDC) awards four $500 scholarships each year – two for Cabrillo High and two for Lompoc High school students.  The course begins and ends at the Visitor's Center of the La Purisima Mission Historical State Park.  The course is hilly and very scenic with majestic views of the Lompoc Valley and the Mission.  Race day packet pick up and race day registration starts at 7:00 AM.  There will be no packet pick up prior to Saturday.  Both the Half Marathon and the 5K events start at 8:00 AM, rain or shine.  The course is closed at 12 Noon.  Entry fees are: $60 for the Half and $30 for the 5K.  Race day registration is $70 for the Half and $30 for the 5K. The entry fee includes refreshments, entry fee into La Purisima State Park, and a finisher’s medal to all participants.  A specially designed long-sleeve jersey is included with Half-Marathon entries and the size is guaranteed if you are registered no later than 10 August.  Awards are three deep in 8 age divisions for male/female runners and the first three male & three female walkers.  On-line registration is at Active.com (a link is available on the Distance Club’s Website) is open or you can download an application at the LVDC web site at http://members.impulse.net/~lvdc/ and send it to Valley of Flowers Marathon, PO Box 694, Lompoc CA 93438.  For more information call Wayne Davis (805)735-7177, e-mail: alhwed@msn.com.

  • SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22,  2017 .  15th  ANNUAL LIZARD BREATH FENCE LINE 7.5-MILE FUN RUN AND 3.5-MILE WALK, LA PURISIMA MISSION, LOMPOC.
  • Approximately seven and a half  miles, sandy and hilly, or 3.5 mile walk. Very scenic for those who enjoy that.  Very tough for those who are looking for a challenge.  Meat for the ultra marathoner, but not recommended for someone who is either A) not familiar with the terrain or B) not in very good shape.  No whiners allowed.  You will sign a waiver, Bubba.  Registration at the Chumash Village under the big oaks towards the blacksmith shop.  Signups start at 9 AM; with the run/walk starting at 10 AM.  Fees:  $10.  For information or to volunteer to help with this event, contact Mary Lou Seelandt at (805) 737-6153, runmls@gmail.com 

  • SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2017. 9 AM.  CHASE SANTA CLAUS TOYS FOR TOTS 5K RUN/WALK, KIDS 1K.  RIVER PARK, LOMPOC, CA.
  • Chase Santa for 3 miles around the one mile fitness trail at River Park.  Entry fee  is $5 plus an unwrapped $10  toy for the Toys for Tots program in the Lompoc Valley.  Registration is the day of the event, starting at 8 AM; the Chase starts at 9 AM.  Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age category.  For more info: (805) 291-7701 or iristocrat@gmail.com.
